WITH GOOD UPHILL AND EASY CHALLENGING TRAILS THIS TOUR WILL GUIDE US THROUGH SOME OF THE MOST FAMOUS MICROCLIMATIC AND VEGETATION ZONES.
It will be decided together with the guide where to start and how much climbing according to the group experience. We will probably start just outside the Madeira Natural Parque (Alt.1200m). From this point we climb aproximatly 6km and 300 meters elevation before we start our fun descend. Then we ride the levada in the direction of Portela, with the endemic Laurel Forest covering the trail, with an endless green color. The sightseeing point of Portela offers a spectacular view over the North side of the island, in particular over the coastal village of Porto da Cruz. After a small break in a nice bar we continue our tour inside the Reserve Natura 2000 network, along dirt roads and trails, always with the endemic Laurel Forest surrounding the trails. After some kilometers and some small climbs, we reach Fajã dos Rolos. Here we will take an old road down to Machico, finishing at sea level, just in time for a drink and a swim!
