Butterfly Watching

The ONLY butterfly watching tour on the Island. Meet Madeira’s special rare endemic butterflies while walking different habitats and record your butterfly sightings for the Madeira Butterfly and Moth Monitoring Scheme.

• Tour led by experienced Naturalist guide combining ecosystems on three watching spots.
• Designed to maximize the observation of Forest, Mountain & grassland butterflies.
• Endemic butterflies such as Madeiran Brimstone, Madeiran Speckled wood, Madeiran Grayling, Madeiran small copper and Macaronesian Red Admiral. Possibility to observe some African migrants or amazing species such as the Monarch butterfly.

Reminder:

Due to changeable weather and altitude variations we recommend polar fleece and windbreaker jackets, hat, outdoor shoes or boots. Sunglasses, sunscreen and water are also advised for all tours.
